Hi All

New to the group and in the UK.

My 15 year old cat has been diagnosed with heart failure, and also has two lumps in his tummy :(

Unfortunately they are not able to take any biopsies until his heart is under control.

He also has Pancreatitis!

We are of the opinion, as is the vets, that we know what these lumps are :arghh:

However in order to give him the best quality of, and as comfortable, life possible please can you advise on the best high protein, high fat, low carb wet cat food, or any home made food I can make/give him.

He is fine in himself, has off days, but this has only just been diagnosed in the last few days, so I am somewhat shocked and totally grief stricken for my best friend :(

Thank you

I'm so sorry for this devistating news.
I am not sure on the food available in the UK... But on the pancratitis, what are they doing to treat that?

So sorry about this devistating news. I recently lost my CC to cancer.

Here's a link to a chart for foods available in the UK.

How are they going to treat the pancreatitis?

Thank you Janet.
That is extremely useful :)

They think the Pancreatitis is connected to the lumps, so not a lot at the mo. Its a bit of a balancing act treating one and not aggravating the other.

He is on a number of tablets.

So sorry to hear about your beloved friend. Would love to hear about him/her

Pancratitis is very painful. It's usually treated with daily sub q's (you would probably have to only do a small amount to keep fluid from building around the heart), cerenia for nausea and bupe for pain.

CC WAS MY SOUL kitty. You can see her in the video in my signature.
