I have read a lot here and have read other places as well but I'm not getting the feeding thing.
My cats are no longer on the hard dry food that they've grazed on their whole lives. They have always eaten FF wet food twice day , a quarter can each twice a day.
The vet said they should have about 300 calories a day each so that comes out to a little over three can a day each....this sound like way to much food. Dasher the diabetic one weighed 16.5 lbs yesterday and his brother is about 17.5 so vet said both need to loose some weight.
Since taking away the dry food we've been feeding them a half can of FF four time daily for a total of 6oz of food and a little less than 200 calories. The cans are only 3oz a can. Is it bad to give three or four meals a day for Dasher? How much food should they be eating?
