Help with dosing

Good morning. Kitty is doing well today, resting as much as he can. He has not had insulin since 5:30pm Sunday 1/2 unit. Just got 234bg at 11am. Need thoughts on dosing again. I will start with numbers from yesterday, surgery day. Thank you, Ceecee

I'd be sure he is eating well and check every couple of hours, if you can, but especially in that 5-7 hour range. We can't be sure what he will do - .5 took him a long time but it was all influenced by no food, surgery etc. so it's a little like you're starting over.

Yes it kind of is starting over fresh, learning. He ate all of his lunch and next meal will be around +5.

Here is what I have:
12:15pm 261 .5 unit fed ff
2:45 +2.5 285
4:15 +5 254
5:30 fed
6:30 +6.25 315
8:30 +8.25 353
Not able to do my ss right now :(

To get access to the spreadsheet, send me a pm. I can send it to you.

I'd give him another cycle on this dose and then raise it by .25 if you don't get better numbers.

Is he still on eyedrops? Did you figure out if they were steroids?

Gave .5 unit last night at 11:30pm. This morning 128bg at 6:30am. Fed ff. I will test again 2 hrs after meal.

Interesting - long cycle. Normally that might mean too much insulin. Wonder if he got a nadir midcycle or it has just been a slow decline since the shot.

Time to start a new thread - anytime you get to Page 2. Today's amps would be a good topic for the new thread.
