Help with diabetes management

My 12 year old cat was on bexacat for a year, it worked at first, but his recent fructosamine was 500 so we started him on insulin. He has a CGM and we’re starting with once a day dosing of toujeo. Started at 2 units nightly with no dips in BG, monitor consistently reads >400, did a spot check at 484. Got up to 6 units and now only dips to the 370’s. For a few hours. Got longer needles, but don’t know what else to troubleshoot. I know this is quite a high dose for cats.
We switched him to only wet food a year ago, eating a mixture of tiki cat and purina DM wet food.

Welcome to FDMB, I will tag a member that can Assist you about dosing

Welcome to FDMB!

It sounds like you've been home testing. It would be useful to see a couple weeks of data from your home testing. We encourage members to use the spreadsheet that you'll find in this post. Seeing what your cat's test results look like will allow us to troubleshoot with you and not make what could be dumb suggestions. The post also has instructions for setting up your signature. The signature provides us with information about your cat so we don't keep asking you some of the basic information we find helpful.
