When you are this unsure go with the current dose. UNLESS your kitty is acting off ie lethargic wandering around like hes lost and hiding.
Our saying here is better high for one day than too low for ONE MINUET.

Without having more information about your cat, I would stick with the current dose. However, we don't know if the dose dropped your kitty into low numbers and as a result, that scares pre-shot number may be a bounce into highs after a low. Vetsulin is the kind of insulin that can drop numbers hard and fast.

It would help us a great deal if you could set up a spreadsheet so we can follow your cat's progress in response to the insulin dose. There's information in the post on helping us to help you that will provide links to setting up a spreadsheet and some of the basics we use here.

WELCOME TO FDMB! Looks like its a good thing you found us. We will do everything we can to get you and your kitty sorted and on the right path. My first and maybe most important question for you is,
"Does your kitty have a history with DKA or ketones?" If he/ she has you would know this. Ketones can develop quickly AND ARE DANGEROUS in a cat that has had the in the past. The home treatment for ketones is FOOD AND INSULIN and of course water. If your vet has not discussed any of this with you I think this is NOT the case.
I'm not trying to scare you . Just want to make sure. That said, 'm going to direct you here:
