I am at my wits end trying to get my baby to let me get a prick on his ear.

He is not wanting me to do anything to him actually. He is getting two shots a day, which he tolerates but fusses over. (And, yes I am doing the shot correctly, bevel up just under skin, aligned with spine, not straight down.) He is also getting antiboitc in his eye because of a recuring uler. Which he hates! I'm surpirsed he still loves me at all.

Food does nothing to motivate or pacify or distract him. He eats ok, and likes some treats, but is not super into anything. He is friendly and likes to get pet, but is not a lap cat lover. He is a light sleeper too, so I have trouble sneaking up on him even then.

Every time I try to prick his ear he wiggles, moves his head all around, grumbles and turns into a total noodle. I am desperate here. I know I need to start home testing him, and potentially increasing his insulin if I have any chance of getting him into remission. And yes, I've discussed that with the vet.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

We had to use a kitty burrito with Oliver at first. We would wrap him up in a towel with only his head showing. After a week or so, we didn't have to do that. He decided he would sit still for a treat.

If you ever get blood and he is moving away, you can get the blood drop on your fingernail and test it from there.
