My kitty Mikan was diagnosed on 01/15/23. She is almost 6 years old, previously healthy kitty. The last 6 weeks have been pretty rough; like many novice sugar kitty moms, I had such a hard time testing her. I have learned so much from this forum and I am so grateful. At last, I'm getting better at poking her ear and she is getting used to my doing so :cat: and I am getting multiple BG numbers a day. Now, looking at the numbers today, she started at 357, went down nicely to 98 at +6, but came back up to 292 at +10.5. I'm using AT2 and glargine, and following SLGS. Based upon the protocol, I should stay on at 1 unit. I am wondering though, if I increase a tiny bit, could the blue number stay a bit longer?

Thank you so much in advance for your kind advice. This forum has been a life saver for me.

With SLGS, you want to give the dose a week before you increase (providing a number indicating a reduction is needed doesn't occur). You've been at this dose for 6 cycles/3 days. If you're still planning on following SLGS, you need to hold the dose.

You're doing a great job getting the testing in!

Many thanks, Sienna!
Okay, I'll stay on at 1 unit for another 4 days. That actually makes me feel at ease.
It took me countless painful ear pokes (mentally and physically - I also poked my fingers so many times! - both accidentally and trying to improve my skill ) to get here. It also took me some time to really understand the importance of home monitoring. Experts and veterans like yourself on this forum have really helped me appreciate this. Without this forum, I would have been totally lost. I am forever grateful.
