Help Sept. 2nd, 2020 Blaze and Paola.

@Critter Mom
I ended up giving Blz a minuscule dose (probably less than 0.25) of insulin after he ate some dry food. Gave it to him at 9 PM. I do have enough days left before my long work days start to work my way back to 7:15 feeding/insulin times. Tomorrow first thing, when the vet opens I will mention what you suggested and those drugs. It looks like I will be up all night again. I will monitor him. I made this decision and I hope I didn't screw everything up.

Just catching up. I'm glad you gave some insulin tonight. With a cat that isn't interested in food, perhaps a bit lethargic, and no ketone test results, I'd be really reluctant to skip insulin. Even cats that are about to undergo anaesthesia and are not allowed to have food, can still get a half dose. Insulin does more than combats carbs in their food.

As for food, here is a link to a post in our Health Links forum that might help: Suggestions on How to Stimulate Kitty's Appetite

Morning, Paola.

Just letting you know I'm about. When you start a new thread, tag me in that one and I'll pop over to have a look. I'm glad you managed to get Blaze to eat a little and also to give him a little insulin last night. I hope you also managed to get some restful sleep. :)
