Sorry..nothing bad.. just need urgent advice then Ill delete this... Obie is doing his curve all day today so his levels have been really good all day. Now its normal shot time and he's reading 11.5 (207)...I dont know if Im suppose to shoot or not???

Normally with a new diabetic, we say wait 20 minutes without feeding and take another level. You want to make sure he is rising and over 200 before you shoot.

I read the Lantus forums and saw that anything above 11.1 but lower than his usual pre-shot level..give a reduced dose.. so that's what I did. Gave .50... Hope I didnt mess this up!

Well his +2 is 211... he's gone up since that shot 2 hours ago.. although I guess it can only go down now at nadir time? I gave half dose two hours ago.. do I give the other half now? Or leave it be for tonight?

Lots of Lantus kitties rise or stay the same in that first 2 hour window. With the 20% variance in meter readings, he is basically the same number. So, no, don't give any more insulin. Most likely he will go down for the next few hours.
