Having trouble getting Fluffy under control. We have been doing fast testings as requested by our vet. Ever since we have done this twice, his numbers have not dropped below 300 when giving 3 units first and then upped to 4 units per vet instructions. He is now on NULO food and the 4 units twice a day. We have seen numbers mid to upper 300s or 400s as well as sometimes over 500.
One thought - he was originally a street cat and has lived indoors with us for about a year and a half now. Could his numbers have been high causing his numbers to drop and then him feeling bad about low sugar cause him to overeat??

Any advice please??

Welcome to FDMB.

I'm hoping that your having noted several blood glucose test results means that you're home testing. We are strong advocates of home testing. This being the case, would you be able to transfer your test data to the spreadsheet we use to track your cat's progress? This is a link to our spreadsheet template. Most of us would be reticent to offer any suggestions regarding dose without seeing what Fluffy's test results look like.

A few other questions, as well. When was Fluffy diagnosed? Were there any medical issues at the time of diagnosis or since? Is Fluffy still going outdoors and if so, is there any chance he has found neighbor who has been leaving kibble outdoors?

I'm not sure I understand your question in the second paragraph of your post. Could you say a bit more about what you're suggesting?

You may want to take look at the sticky notes at the top the board. They provide a great deal of information. about Lantus and how this board operates.
