He normally gets his shot at 6am and it is now 7:15. Just tested him 10 minutes ago and he was only 100, after being 63 at 6am (shot time). He his recovering from a pancratitis attack and what they are classifying as DKA. He is currently on Denamarin once a day, Cerinia twice a week, and prilosec (5mg) once a day.
I don't want to NOT give him anything...he was in the low 200s yesterday, but had a crappy curve day on Saturday (i gave my shift away to stay home with him).
thoughts please?

If he has DKA, he needs his insulin. I can not stay on the board as I have to leave for work. Is he eating fine, today?
If you have to leave for work, can you leave a bunch of higher carb food out for him?

Hopefully, someone else can advise you as I have to leave. Best of luck in your decision.

his darn numbers have been all over the darn map. When he went into the hospital the night of 7/20, his numbers in the 2 preceding days were lower, not what you would expect for a cat about to DKA. He did have a slightly enlarged liver, but the ultrasound didn't find anything else.

I tested him again at 8am and he was 120. He's been eating fine, but after low 200s all day yesterday (well, at least the times I was here to get a reading), giving me a 63 was a bit of a curve ball. Vet said give him 1.75 instead of 2.25. We will be leaving shortly to go in for our visit anyway (follow up again and another blood test). I will work from home if needed today. Speaking of, I better get back to it for a few minutes...

Re: Help - please look at Cedric's numbers, debating shot am

it looks like you shot.

FYI: The 120 is your AMPS if that is when you shot. If you are 2 hours past your usual shot time, your PM shot will be 12 hours after you actually shot.

Yes, pretty much, Sienne. And you answered my next question already.
I updated the thread in relaxed as I really need to get to the office. visit went well and he doesn't have to go back next week. will bring in urine next week, but his RBC count is in the normal range. Knocking prilosec off the pill list vet said.
