We've been 1 week on this...I"m not seeing anything significant happen

AMPS 21.2 +3 24.3 +6 22.2
US=AMPS 382 +3 437 +6 400

I just keep seeing my cat frequently urinate and thirsty as all and I'm pricking and poking and seeing no result....

Looks like you are testing enough to do a 18 hour curve today. It's the 7th day on this dose. If you can get one at +9, +12(PMPS), then +3 and +6 tonight, and don't see anything below 150, you can increase to 2.25 units tomorrow morning.

As Elise says, the dry food makes a huge difference. I have seen a cat from from 5.5 units of Levemir to completely off of insulin when dry was removed. It's not usually that drastic a change, but it does make a big difference.

And by the way, one of our sayings here is that Lantus teaches patience. So, yes, it's a requirement. ;)

wow Victor is just stunning. What a gorgeous cat!!

I know exactly how you feel but you gotta remember -- this is a marathon, not a sprint. It can feel like you're not getting anywhere but it is a slow process usually.

Thanks All! I am moving from the solostar Lantus Pen to the 3/10 insulin syringes today- so I am going to keep the dosage at the 2 units for one more day as I start with these syringes before I make any adjustments. I did find it difficult with the solostar to administer BUT I still am 100% certain he was getting a dose. I am home all day today so will update our spreadsheet today as it starts and also start a new thread with his AMPS numbers above.

Victor is a Bengal- I've owned him for 13 years- came from a breeder- or so she though she was- but once she started she could not sell the kittens because she loved them so much. She brought Victor in from Costa Rica- he is an F1. Essentially her husband said once they got up to 25+ bengals enough is enough. We shared a mutual vet, and I had just lost my DSH, and my vet knew my dream was to own a bengal. Long story short, we connected, I paid to have Victor neutered and he's been mine ever since- no 'stud' type attitude- 100% cuddle bug, excellent LB behaviours and a dream cat health wise til this last year. Down the road as the breeder seen Victor thrive with me she also ended up giving me one of his daughters, Seascape, and a son Walter. 4 Years ago we also rescued a bengal from a purebred shelter, Mogali. So I have 4 of these amazing creatures.

Positive thoughts for a positive day....see you in the next thread!
