Does anyone have experience with possible pancreatitis? This is all fairly new. Mostly in the last week. The last couple days she hasn’t really wanted to eat. Last Sunday she threw up yellow foamy stuff. Still trying to get her regulated from a couple UTIs the past few months.
Someone also said it Courbet that they raised her thyroid medicine too high.
What can I do right now to help her from home

symptoms
Constipated, hard belly, doesn’t want to eat, actingstrange like dementia, doesn’t want to eat, losing weight

You need pain meds if she’s having a flare up as it’s painful and you also need anti nausea meds like ondansetron and Cerenia. A diabetic cat that is now eating is a lot risk for ketones which are life threatening. I think you need to start testing for ketones daily. You can get the test strips at any pharmacy. Can you get your vet to prescribe the meds? And are you able to syringe feed her? Will she eat anything at all like even treats? Have you tried baby food and tuna?

She ate a bit more this evening. I just tested her ketones and it was negative. When I push on her belly she doesn’t seem painful at all. Someone in another support group mentioned that maybe her thyroid meds are too high (the vet increased it 2 months ago). I don’t know. I just hate how skinny she’s getting

Welp… Miralax WORKED ‍♀️ Spent 3 hours this morning cleaning up the poo that she wiped ALL OVER and bathing my stinky girl. She still didn’t want to eat her food or tuna but I got her to eat some chicken I boiled for her. Vet tomorrow. Not sure what to have them do/test for

What med and how administered? My civi Boots was dx'd w/hyperthyroidism and started treatment w/oral methimazole and oafter 2 montyhs or so he would n0t eat the next meal after giving the med. If I stopped he resumed eating normally and restarted the not eating resumed. Sooution@that time was to go the the transdermal Methimazole.

That’s interesting that you say that. An expert in a different group was telling me that her meds may be too high. Vet increased her methimazole about 2 months ago and she said that’s about the right timing for her to stop eating. I’m gonna be pissed if that’s the reason. She’s been doing good for years with her hyperthyroidism. Also weird is that in the last few weeks she’s been fighting me when I give her pills when she NEVER did before

Your signature says hypothyroidism, not hyperthyroidism. Which is it?
Really??? My mis naming is not important at all right now. I’ve had an exhausting weekend and obviously I’m thinking about other things that are more important. Not necessary to comment that

Different drugs are used to treat the two conditions. Different side effects of both the two drugs and the two conditions. Yes, it's important. That's why Larry was asking which drug above. Diarrhea and change in appetite are conditions of methizamole, which is used to treat hyperthryoidism. Too much methizamole can cause hypothyroidism and lack of appetite can be a symptom. Levothyroxine is the usual treatment for hypothyroidism. One symptom of too much levothyroxine is diarrhea.

I said she gets methizamole so I thought it would be obvious. I’ll fix my signature. Her T4 was 6 in August so the vet raised her med. at the vet now testing that and kidney function
