I saw the needle on top of my dresser - forgot to give her the insulin!
I haven't been updating the chart, so don't bother looking yet...she had a low last night of 43 at 10 pm, so she had honey, and some HC food, which finally kicked in about 3am. Explains how I messed up tonight!

Is it too late to give the shot?
Could I give her a reduced amount? I just reduced her from 2.25 to 2.0 because she earned it last night. She is on her trampoline, with a bungee cord all day: AMPS-406, PMPS-366. That's normal for her. She bounces high for a day, then settles down.
So, I feel she needs something....but is it too late?

it's not going to hurt missing the shot..... no different than a furshot.

can you handle the change in schedule? shooting again in 12 hours if you shoot now.
If you can, go ahead and shoot....

if you have to stay on your schedule, you can work your way back but no more than 30 minutes each day ....

I can do that.....I'll shoot now, and shoot in 12 hours, working my way back to schedule. Her nadir is usually 6-8 hours away from shot time, so I don't relish getting up at 4am to see if she's starting to get to her nadir, and if so, how low.

Try getting a +2....a lot of times it can act like a crystal ball

If the +2 is about the same as the PreShot, it's usually a pretty normal cycle....gradually down to nadir and then back up.

If the +2 is higher than the PS, they're usually bouncing and it's OK to take a break from poking and get some rest

If the +2 is lower than the PS, that's your early warning that they might be going lower that cycle and you need to get more tests in later in the cycle.

It doesn't work for all cats (and in some, a +3 is more predictive) but it's really pretty accurate

Her +2 is usually higher, +4 is indicative, usually. Last night, her PMPS was 98, +2 was 43....ouch.

her PMPS was 98, +2 was 43....

When you shoot those lower numbers, we usually suggest getting a +1 so you can intervene early if you need to.

I'm not surprised last night that the +4 was higher....her liver probably kicked in and released stored sugars and hormones to bring her back up out of those 40's....she also had that yummy HC food!

Since you don't have your spreadsheet up to date, it's impossible to see if there's any pattern we might be able to help you identify.

Tonight was 11pm instead of 8pm.
tomorrow morning will be 11am
tomorrow night will be 10:30pm
and so on until I'm back to 8am & 8pm....

We don't suggest moving quite that fast. It's either 15 minutes per cycle OR 30 minutes per day

So tomorrow you could shoot at 10:45am/10:30pm
Sunday 10:15am/10:00pm
Monday 9:45am/9:30pm......all the way back to your chosen time OR

Tomorrow 11am/10:30pm
Sunday 10:30am/10pm
Monday 10am/9:30pm.....all the way back to your chosen time

I was nervous about shooting at a number below 100. I did it once at 70, with no problems - that was a one time deal. since then, lower numbers make me wait 30 minutes & check again.
When she goes low, it's not nadir, she starts in the 300s, and slowly continues down all day. At least, I can see it coming.
Last night was a sudden jump downwards.
