Hello everybody,
I am talking to you about the use of cortisone for a diabetic cat.
For my veterinarian, the "classic" cortisone is incompatible with diabetes, she is looking for another type of cortisone that can be associated, but for now it has found in the human class and it is very expensive.
Does anyone have any information on this?
My baby has chronic digestive inflammation of unknown origin. It also has extensive colon fermentation with dilatation and has always had problems with constipation.
With her digestive problems she was in diarrhea.
She had an antibiotic and probiotic treatment in case it was due to a bacterial proliferation, as well as an anti acid for inflammation, but the ideal would have been to be able to treat it with cortisone.
Since the beginning of the year she only eats wet food, medicalized at first, but I changed because too expensive.
Currently she alternates between constipation and diarrhea if I use paraffin oil for example.
His chart : PounetteSS is up-to-date, as you can see, I've been using Chromium Chloride for a while to reduce doses of insulin. I stopped the chromium at the time of his digestive problems in case it could have impacted the situation.
Do you have feedback on the use of chromium or other insulin co-actors? (The idea is that if no one in my circle is able to give them blood glucose tests, giving another oral medicine in my absence is easy).
As you will also see on the chart, I had to greatly increase the doses of Caninsulin.
Do you think she is reacting correctly to Caninsulin now?
My analysis of the table is this: the rates have dropped (blue boxes) from January 22 (switch to wet feed only).
Then seeing in February that it went back (yellow boxes) I added chrome and there was again blue.
Since the cessation of chromium rates tend to increase while I have increased insulin.
I thank you in advance for your feedback.
