I'll make a decision for you: give her 1 u. Test again at +2 just before bed. Leave some food out for her for night time snacking.
Ok she’s 40 min late will that matter?

Good point. Is her appetite less than it should be, Adrienne?Giving the 1u dose is certainly another option. I'd want to be sure Molly is eating well again now regardless of dose though.
Not a problem.Ok she’s 40 min late will that matter?
You can shoot a bit earlier tomorrow by 15 or 30 minutes. Does that work for your schedule?Ok she’s 40 min late will that matter
I think you mean later, Linda.Ok problem solved. Sorry was off trying to figure out what to feed a fussy geriatric feline!

No.If she is late tonight, then shot could be given 15 to 30 minutes earlier than tonight, tomorrow morning to get back to regular shot time.
Let me re-phrase that......since shot is 40 minutes late tonight, if need be, to get back to your regular shot time, you can give insulin 15 to 30 minutes earlier. So you can given insulin between 06:10 and 06:25 am tomorrow.
Sorry - my mistake.No.If she is late tonight, then shot could be given 15 to 30 minutes earlier than tonight, tomorrow morning to get back to regular shot time.
Yes. Give the evening dose tomorrow at 6 PM. I apologize for confusing the situation ...Ok perfect then the evening can be at 6? Curious why she’s not that hungry? Husband came home from camp. Been with him quite a bit. Maybe that’s why?

I only asked because you said she wasn't interested in FF and had only a few treats and kibbles. With diabetics you need to know they'll eat even a little when you give insulin. With cats in general you need to watch their eating habits because they can't go long without food before getting ill - doubly so for a diabetic. What’s wrong with her appetite?

With Molly seeing better BG numbers, she may not be as hungry as she was before. Diabetics don't process their food efficiently but as they get better regulated their appetite tends to reduce to more normal levels. While we have become used to their insatiable appetites, we think they are eating poorly when in fact they may just be getting back to normal. Juts keep an eye on her so you know she is eating.
It s fine to leave a little kibble out for her to munch on should she need it tonight.
