I need help, every dollar counts for me. We just bought a house
And this is putting a lot of stress into our lives
I've never in my life thought that i would write on a forum page about my life events.
Baloo is a now a 9yrs old black cat. When he was just 7years old, i brought him to the vet because he was drinking soooo much water, his fur was fullll of dandruff and he was starting to walk weird on his back paws. I ignored the signs for months assuming i was seeing things. Sure enough, the vet saw him and knew right away. She tested his glucose and he was at 28, VERY high and she told me that he had 2 weeks tops to live if i didn't act right away.
Went home, my boyfriend and i cried like babies and, because of his young age, came to the conclusion that we will NOT give up and will start the insulin injections. He has dental disease also but to start, we focused on saving his life from immediate danger.
2 months later, he was back to his usual spunk and he is playing with his toys and thriving.
its now been 2 years and he's GREAT
**TO PEOPLE GOING THROUGH A DIAGNOSIS LIKE THIS DON'T GIVE UP AND FIGHT IT, it's easy (takes commitment for sure) but the reward is priceless.**
Now... His teeth are really bothering him. We are going tomorrow to have them all removed. I'm back to my fear of losing my baby. There are risks to put a diabetic cat under anaesthesia.
