A few weeks ago we learned our beloved Snickers was diabetic. She was having trouble jumping, peeing a lot, lost weight, fur felt weird.
The first few weeks were a struggle because she had pancreatitis and we couldn't get her to eat. We used to free feed her and having to get on a schedule for the insulin at the same time she wouldn't eat was rough.
But she has made such good progress. Feisty and jumping; so soft again, peeing less. We did one curve (that was rough) and have adjusted her dose.
But one thing is bothering us. She initially didn't even notice the shot. But now she is avoiding us and whimpers a bit. Does it hurt the more you do it? Are we doing something wrong?
