Hi… our sweet diabetes boy Edgar (Diagnosed 2 months ago) did not eat his evening meal last night and has not eaten anything but two bites of tuna since then. He clearly isn’t feeling well. Laying around and not moving much at all. Not drinking water either.
Our new vet took him off Prozinc for almost 2 weeks now to check numbers. I questioned this and they all said he would be fine. His numbers are in the low to mid 300’s every time we tested. Which has been 3x. We are new to testing. Edgar did throw up a little bile last night with a little hair in it. I have a Lantus prescription that I will go fill today once they open at 11AM. Our vet is closed today of course. She didn’t want me starting the Lantus until later this week. But, should I give him the prescribed 1 unit as soon as I come home with it today?
What wet tasty food might get him to eat? I have tried 6 different things so far. Should I give him a little hair ball gel? Is this an emergency at this point or wait to get him to the vet tomorrow?
Thank you… Nikki
