My new Lantus bottle fell on my desk when I pulled it out of its box. it was just 5 cm over my desk but still, it's a small impact on the bottle.. Will the insulin still work?!

I'm always very careful but I don't know what happened tonight, I think so many things stress me and I was a bit less careful. :(

I will test Yuki's BG in a few hours to see if it worked, but I just wonder if Lantus can survive this small fall/impact.

As long as the vial didn't break, it's totally fine. It's not that sensitive.

Next time you get insulin you should look into getting pens instead. They don't break if they're dropped and you're usually able to use every drop in each pen.

Thank you so much for the reply!! I was afraid the insulin might not be good anymore !
Oh yes I see many people use pens, it seems to be very useful, even more if there is no rist they break!!

Yeah we just use them like "mini-vials". You pull the cap off and there's a rubber stopper just like on a vial so you insert your syringe, pull out the dose you need, put the cap back on and put it back in the fridge!

A 5 pack is 1500 units which can last most cats at least 1 year and a lot up to 2 years!
