that's where I got the food from my contact in the uk.thanks diane :-D 75% chicken,24% chicken broth,1% rice :-D its a start.im a happy bunny as I thought itd be a nightmare trying to get him off it.what a good boy <3

I use a variety of foods and rotate each day since I don't eat the same thing daily and don't expect Harley & Davidson to eat the same thing daily

Here are the carb % values to make it easier:

Fancy Feast
turkey & giblet feast pate 3%
cod, sole & shrimp pate 4%
tender liver & chicken feast pate 4%
salmon feast pate 4%
ocean whitefish & tuna feast pate 4%
chicken feast in gravy pate 13%

Friskies
turkey & giblet dinner pate 8%
salmon dinner pate 7%
mariners catch pate 6%

Merrick
96% salmon 2%

Science Diet/Hills
w/d 25%

When Davidson drops lower then 50 I give him the 13% carb food as it works to spike his levels, however many cats need a higher carb to do this so you may want to buy something else. The w/d food was what my first Vet wanted me to use all the time, this was after he sold me the same w/d dry food. And when I looked at the 25% carb content I fired him!!! He knows nothing about FD so don't assume your Vet does either.......

In order to take the math out of it and make it easy I cut off the labels and mark the carb % i.e. 4C (for 4% carb) on the label and then tape it to the shelf under the food stack so I can easily reach for it. Might be a helpful idea for some??

Don't panic - you have GREAT people here and I was in the same situation Jan 7th when I started with Davidson's DX and he went on Lantus on Jan 15th and today is his 3rd reduction. It gets much easier............so hang in there.

In this forum above where the threads start, click on 'new topic' just like you did when you started this one. :-D

I'm out right now and posting from my phone but if you can start a new thread/condo for today, I'll link this one for you and give you instructions when I get home.

I can do that for her...........Anna, make a new topic today and I'll attach the link.............dah, didn't think of that which is why I'm still a 'newbie" haha
