Hi, I'm Gary.
Several years ago, I posted here that my girl Gracie was facing euthanasia, due to lack of bladder control. Within a couple of hours, I was contacted by an incredibly kind lady, who came to our house the next morning, picked up Gracie, and gave her a loving home and the care she needed. This was such a blessing.

Today I have been informed that my boy Rosie is also diabetic, with a glucose reading over 400. I'll be taking a blood sample from him in a few minutes, and I'll start treatment with Lantus once the vet recommends a dosage. We will keep Rosie happy and properly cared for.

I want to thank the FDMB for the great support provided to all of us kitty moms and dads.

If your little one has been recently diagnosed, please know that diabetes is not a death sentence!
Gracie lived a good long life, Rosie will be with me for many more years, and your kitty will be just fine, too. Don't despair, don't worry, and don't give up on your little friend. Everything will be alright.

Welcome Gary and Rosie :)
Just going to set you up with some instruction links since you have a diabetic kitty now :cat:.
Signature information, super helpful for a quick glance about Rosie and helps those of us with bad memories ;): http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/editing-your-signature-profile-and-preferences.130340/

Since you are home testing, hooray!, here is the Spreadsheet template: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/fdmb-spreadsheet-instructions.130337/

Lastly, something I hope you never need but it's better to be prepared: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/how-to-treat-hypos-they-can-kill-print-this-out.15887/

The Lantus community is big here so you are in good hands :)
