Has anyone heard of or used a product called HealthyMouth? It is added to a pet's drinking water and is supposed to reduce plaque.

Ingredients are:
Purified Water, Organic Glycerin, Organic Pomegranate, Organic Yucca Extract, Zinc Gluconate, Organic Blueberry, Natural Xanthan Gum, Organic Papain (Papaya Enzyme), Riboflavin (Vitamin B12), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Salmon Oil (source of Omega-3), Organic Clove Extract, Organic Cinnamon Extract, Natural Taurine, Chlorophyll, Sorbic Acid (natural preservative derived from mountain berries).

My vet suggested this for my very senior CRF civie. I am somewhat sceptical. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, I do. My civie, Little Al, had extensive dental work done recently and my vet suggested HealthyMouth be added to his water. I was skeptical, but not wanting to be a bad "mom" I bought the box (60 packets). I mix it with 2-1/2 cups of distilled water (also recommended).
I have used it for about 9 weeks now so I am not sure yet if I can tell if his teeth have benefitted from it. His gums are nice and pink, his teeth look ok, but again, he just had them cleaned, so I guess I won't know the outcome until some time passes. But I will tell you that he likes it. So far, so good. I know this is not much help, but I use it with no ill effects.

Good luck,
Pam & Alley
