Hi all. Been awhile since I've been on. I have a question, my kitties are still in remission, yay!! But, we are headed out to our vacation for 6 days and I am having problems finding someone to come in to feed my kitties. I have 2 auto feeders and have tried putting frozen portions in the the feeders but my cats won't eat them. Do you think if I try the No carb dry it would work better for our vacation or would I run the risk of taking them out of remission? I feed 4 times a day and the temp will be 80 to 90 in the enclosed porch where they will bee, so feeding a can twice a day probably isn't wise.

What about contacting your vet to see if there is a vet tech or someone who would be willing to come over and feed the cats (for a fee of course). How about going online to look for pet sitters in your area? Care.com may have pet sitters, as one place to look.

How about asking a neighbor, friend or relative if they would be willing to come over and take care of the cats?

Also, post where you live - city/state or city/country (if out of US) and there may be a member local who can help you out.

Personally, I would not give dry food to my cats and I wouldn't leave them on their own for more than 12 hours. As they need the attention, litter boxes cleaned and ensure that water is fresh, food is provided and they are all fine.

Hey, MO2F!

Good to see you back, and great to hear that Woody and Buzz are doing well. Fingers and paws crossed you'll find a sitter.

Bonnes vacances! Send us a postcard!! :D

I'd be hesitant about changing their diet right before and during a vacation. I know my crew have frequently been OK with a new food for a few days and then turned their noses up at it completely so I'd want to be sure they are going to eat and not have any GI upsets from any different food before going that route. Check with your local pet stores to see if they know of any sitters in your area. I have a friend who does live in pet sitting and she doesn't advertise because all her business has come from word of mouth. Hope you get this figured out and have a great vacation!
