Havent been here for awhile, need help!

My cat has been doing great for two years. Tiny dose of insulin, just a little fluctuation, but otherwise pretty regulated.
Just recently his numbers have gone through the roof!! He's been peeing everywhere. I upped his dosage to 2units. Doesnt seem to be helping. Today his bs was 543!!! I dont know what to do...is he becoming insulin resistant? His nadir is now what is bs usually was. HELP.

Have you had him checked for a urinary tract infection? UTI's will raise the blood glucose as well as contribute to peeing everywhere

The first thing I'd do is get him to a vet for a check-up

I will definitely bring him in. Have to wait til after weekend.

Be sure to check his urine for ketones in the meantime.

You should be able to get urine ketone test strips (e.g. Keto-Diastix anywhere that sells diabetic supplies, e.g. local pharmacies).

Well we went to the vet. No ketones that is good. They thought maybe he had a hint of a uti so hes on antibiotics, and im upping his dose to 3 units. Weeeee what fun. Now i have to try to regulate him all over again after all this work...and spent all my xmas money..ugh..today is shite.
