Has anyone tried the new Nutro recipes for their canned foods? I noticed at the pet store today that the new cans are grain free, and from looking at the ingredient list, seem to be very low carb (as low or lower than the Nature's Recipe grain free varieties). I'm wondering if anyone has tried them out yet or has any stories to share.

Here's a link to the Sr. one: http://www.nutro.com/natural-cat-food/nutro/canned/senior-soft-loaf-chicken-recipe.aspx

Price-wise, these come in a little cheaper than Nature's Recipe so if my Simba likes them I could shave $1-2 off of his meal costs per day.

w/ the calculator, it comes in at 2% dry matter carbs. No info. on the phosphorus though; is that something you have to ask the manufacturer for directly?

I contacted them recently (my cat switched from dry to Nutro chicken soft loaf) and they said this:
Dear Megan,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We value the opinions of our consumers and take their feedback very seriously. Your feedback is no exception.

All of the NUTRO® Cat Canned products will be below a 2% carb. All of the chicken loaf and chunky loaf formulas will contain a carb percentage of 0-0.5%.

I didn't specifically ask that, no - but they were prompt and helpful to answer the question I did ask (which was just about carb content), so I'm sure if you contact them too and ask about phosphorus, they'll be able to help.
