After Regan's gall bladder surgery he had a problem with vomiting & Dr gave him Reglan, which seemed to help and he has been on it since August. I've been sort of scared to take him off of it because the vomiting was such a problem.
BTW this is in pill form and not the liquid....
Since then his BG's have steadily increased and now he is hitting all time highs...I mean 500's! He has gone from practically waving the insulin over him and hoping for remission, to 2u..... Sometimes he only drops a few hundred points between doses and other times he drops like a rock at 400 pts in 4 hours. It's gotten worse lately.......
I kept feeling like I was missing something....so I went over his log and there it was in plain sight!
I found two articles on the web that stated that Regaln should not be give to diabetic cats but no real explanation why. One article (Fosters & Smith) said it "may change the insulin requirements of diabetic animals"
Can anyone add something here ???? Am I way off base ???
