Can heat make them higher? It's a heatwave here in the UK and we are frying.

My Dad was looking after him yesterday and we are not sure if he did a fur shot or not for that high reading - very odd!!
The lack of daytime tests depresses me but I haven't been working from home for weeks now :(

Hope everyone else in LL is doing OK

Hi Jax - I just wanted to stop by and say hi. I read Harry's profile and am glad you were able to get him on Lantus! I have had my own difficulty with vets, so I understand the frustration. I don't have any advice for his high numbers but I'm sure someone will be along to help you out. I'm in Florida so I can also relate to your "frying"! I have my air cranked down to 70 degrees and I hibernate during the summer! :-D

I guess any stress can increase blood glucose level but usually when it's hot here my cats just sleep and relax so if anything it would be lower!

I am thinking its a bounce, wonder if he dropped low yesterday. And he is coming back down again now too..

Thanks Wendy, Yup, I was thinking bounce although when Dad rang with his AMPS reading I did tell him to shoot but give lots of food - not sure if Mr Harrycat stuffed his chops a bit too much!! lol Poor parents tried every 2 hrs to get him to come in for a test but he was having none of it!! He only likes to come home for mummy.. @-)

Hi there Lkldcatlady :) I wish we had aircon!!! No point here though when we so rarely get anywhere near 30 deg heat. That's why we go stupid when it does get hot!!!

Harry likes sleeping in the tree peony that I have on the front drive in a raised bed. Yesterday he also slept for a while in mothers' catmint bush.
