...Hope this works. New thread here, about my cat Harry who's trying to fight off this diabetes!!!
We tried two times at +6 after his AMPS, to get a GB reading. Both times we poked his ears (left and right) and barely any blood came out. We left it alone, he was very antsy and didn't want it to happen - and took off and hid. :YMSIGH:
Poor kitty. We got the PMPS, 347.
It's always hard getting in the mid-day nadir shots on the weekends, (the only times I work) and my hubby isn't around to do it. ...What do you do if you have to tackle the GB test alone? I told my hubby (as I won't be there for his AMPS tomorrow) to try the burrito kitty roll-up method (we'll see if he'll fight it or not) and just work on his ears so you don't have his legs pushing you away. Any other tips?
He used to purr (a few days ago) when he was getting attention with the GB test about to happen, and after, but it seems like every time my hubby (as I just freaked OUT of needles) pokes his ears he meows realll loud and doesn't like it. ...maybe it's the technique? I really hate that - it makes it so hard when we go to tackle him for a third time, this time he fights it well. I wasn't around today, but he is hossing down food like crazy and was more into water these last few days.
Yesterday his nadir (we hope, based on the one GB test - for now) was 115, his best yet!!!! And we were so happy. But it did spike to 461, his highest ever. But I was advised that it is a spike and for good reason - so I'll go with that!!
I will keep going ahead with this daily "diary" for Harry, when I'm able to be there for his mid-day GB tomorrow I'm hoping it will be low!!!!
