When it rains, it pours... ugh! Not sure why Hardey has decided now is the time to start having higher numbers. I just tested him and he was 132. That is the highest it has ever been since I began home testing. Yesterday was close to the same. Because he's so finicky and has turned his nose up at all FF pates and Friskies special diets that he has been eating since June, I've had to get a bit more inventive. He has been eating (and enjoying) the FF trout feast and tuna/chicken. Both have about 7 to 8% carbs. I know this is a bit higher than the other ones I had him on, but not by that much.... or at least I thought. Anyway, I changed him over to FF flaked fish/shrimp and he loves it. It has 0% carbs (I know, it's high in phosphate, but I can only deal with one issue at a time). He has only been on the flaked fish/shrimp since yesterday at noon. So, it's been about 36 hours. How long does it take to bring down BG after you stop feeding higher carbs?
I'm probably just being a paranoid mom, but I'm going out of town on Friday and won't be back until Monday. My 21 year old nephew is staying with Hardey and I"m trying to keep the amount of instructions to a minimum.
I guess I'm just looking for someone to say that 132 isn't that bad of a number, even if it is creeping up. What else can I do?
