HAPPY HAPPY THIRTEENTH BIRTHDAY, SWEETIE B !!!!
IT'S TRUE...MY BABY BOY IS 13 TODAY!!
I am, of course...late posting for him, but I'm pretty sure that the special chicken breast Chef Rob prepared for him
just before I left work this evening will guarantee forgiveness ;-) ;-)
For those of you who joined later than we did, or didn't read the post-
I thought I would retell the story of how this lil guy came to bless my life.
Thirteen years ago, one of my crew knocked on my office door and asked if I was in the mood to see some "major cuteness".
She had brokered a deal for another associate, and was delivering his new kitten.
Knowing that I raised Manxies, she wanted me to get a look at him before he went to his new home.
She was a bit of a loud talker, and the moment she set this little grey tiger Manx down on my desk,
he scurried across it and parked his tiny tailless butt on my hand. When I raised him to eye level, he hopped over to my shoulder.
One look in those gorgeous sea-green eyes...and I knew SOMEONE was going home sans kitten that day, but it was NOT going to be me!!!
So I made arrangements to buy his sister for the expectant family, and carted the little poop home, and we've never looked back!
He stole my heart that morning, and has brightened it with his whimsical, funny, sweet personality every day since.
And now that he is OTJ, he's back to sharing his love and brightening the days of many nursing home folk with his
companion cat visits- one of the multitude of things I cherish about the boy.
His Dx of FD has brought our relationship to a level of commitment and love that I doubt we would ever have reached
if he had not fallen ill. And to have been able to share our FD journey with such an amazing group as our FDMB Family
has been a true blessing.

So to you, my Sweetie Wheatie Buns, on this anniversary of your birth...
