Awww, thanks Marcy! I just got home from a long day at work and am now all decked out for kitty snuggles. Harley and Molly are oreo-cookie snadwiching me on the couch right now. Bagheera is at my feet looking up at us. Hadley is lunging on the back of a chair trying to catch the breeze blowing in from a window and Princess is camped out in front of my full length glass front door checking out the nightlife.

Life doesn't get any better than this. :-D :-D :-D

Thanks for the b-day wishes everyone! The cats threw a wild catnip party (sorry for the noise Sheila   ) and I slept on the couch. Hmmm. something is backwards about this picture....oh yeah, Was I supposed to party and they were supposed to sleep.?

Sorry I have not posted any updates in awhile. The boys and Molly are fine. Hadley is surhing green these days on 0.10u. I just need to figure out when to stop and let him try it solo. Harley is status quo which is good for now because my little tiger Princess is poorly. She is losing weight so fast it's scary. Hyper-T is under good control and she's eating like a horse so that's not it. I'm on my third enzyme supplement and we've just started pred. in case it's cancer. Even if it is, it won't help for long.

Bagheera's been fine up until this AM when he wouldn't eat and is meatloafing. So I'm trotting out my pancreatitis remedies just in case. His SS is up to date - BGs have been kind of bouncy on 0.5u so I lowered to 0.25u and he rose high and flat so I've settled on 0.4u to try and get him to stop swinging. So far it seems to be working, I'm just impatient, and in light of the kitties who's passed from DKA recently - I'm paranoid about ketones even in good numbers. I just can't seem to catch him at the litterbox. I'm leaving him in his foster room wiht food, water and catnip today to see if he eats once the meds. kick in.

Laura, I am sorry to hear that Princess is not doing well. I would wonder about cancer too with her history - except, maybe her appetite would not be that great? When did you have her T4 last checked? And was it Free T4 by ED? I can't think of anything else that would cause weight loss and a ravenous appetite - well, tape worm. You have to check a fresh stool (unburied) to see the segments. One of mine had that last year seemingly out of the blue. But my crew had fleas about 6 months before that.

I hope Bagheera feels better. Has he had ptitis before? Mine are all shedding like crazy, with this early warm weather, and tossing up furballs, which can make them not want to eat right beforehand. His numbers look good.

Good thought Sheila. We did a Free T4 by ED in February and it showed she was under good control. (It was thanks to this board that I knew to ask for the Free T4 test initially to get her diagnosed so I knew to ask for only that test before we tinkered with her thyroid dosage.) So it's not her thyroid this time around. It's most likely her pancreas is producing less and less digestive enzymes (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency) as she's had falling fTLI numbers last year, or it's cancer. My vet and I discussed the possibilities and since the treatment for EPI is enzymes and the treatment for cancer is pred. I'm spending my money on those rather than more blood tests. That's as far as I can go for her. But I won't let her starve to death either.

Bagheera ate 1/4 can FF with lots of prodding this AM. I gave him 0.10 ml (2 mg) Anzemet and 0.10 ml buprenex before I left for work and I'll see if he's any better at lunch time. The shedding is pretty bad at my house - the clumps blow around like tumbleweeds. But hew was great last night so this came on rather suddenly. It happened one time before when he was on clindamycin and had a bad reaction to it. I don't know if he has a history of p-titis. But he's a diabetic so it's possible.

Bagheera only ate a few bites at lunch so I left him in his room with the food, water and LB in case he feels like munching. Tonight I'm going to try his "sick food" that I fed him last time this happened when he was recovering from the clindamycin trial: FF Chunky Chicken or FF Elegant Medleys. Yes, it'll screw with the insulin dosing but I can manage that.

At least Princess is eating...but nothing is sticking to her ribs.

Yeah! Bagheera ate his lunch during the afternoon and ate all of his dinner. He's also playing with the feather wand tonight. Much better than this morning. That was so weird... BGs were flat 230s today so something was up...

I am Late to the Party...as usual, BUT Happy Belated Birthday Laura!
