My kitty Professor has been on Prozinc for a little over a month and is doing really well so far. Today was the first time he just didn't want to eat at his 2nd insulin time. He's normally all too happy to eat but this last week he hasn't wanted to eat as much. I did what my vet advised in this situation and didn't give him a dose. He has a glucose curve scheduled for this Monday. Could this be a sign for anything or does this just happen sometimes?

How is the Professor now?Has he eaten at all.?
If not I would definitely test the urine for ketones. You can buy some Ketostix from a pharmacy or Walmart if you are in the US..
Not eating and skipping the insulin needs the ketones checked.

Thanks, he just ate his full meal and got his first insulin of the day. My schedule has been a little crazy this week, maybe he is feeling the stress too.

It does happen from time to time, but it's really important that it doesn't last very long and you watch Professor carefully

Loss of appetite can be one of the first signs of pancreatitis or the beginnings of a DKA.

Thanks! He has started to ease back on his eating now and again. He was eating quite alot in the beginning but the last week he has eaten a little less. He has started to gain needed weight and muscle back so I was figuring he just wasn't as hungry anymore. I'll be sure to note everything for his vet appt soon!
