She ate!!!! Not a lot but more than she has recently. And it wasn't like the last 2 days where she waited a good hour or 2 and then took a few bites. She came right to me for her test and then ate some breakfast. And her BG is back down.

Gave 0.5 again. Didn't want to give too high in case she throws up and since it was still a smaller amt of food.

I still think I might bring her to the vet. With New Years this week, I can't take a day off Tuesday or Thursday and the vet might not be open wed. What do you think? I mean...she seems better but maybe we can still get checked just in case.

Re: Gypsy AMPS 304

It can't hurt anything. They might give you some meds to stimulate her appetite if it happens again, and a general once over exam can't hurt. Maybe ask about pancreatitis possibility?

So glad she is eating again!

Re: Gypsy AMPS 304

Thanks Sue! You really are a lifesaver. You and everyone else here are the only way I kept sane this weekend.

Re: Gypsy AMPS 304

Do pick up some 10 mg Pepcid AC for the medicine chest. It can be very helpful for upset stomachs.

Re: Gypsy AMPS 304

Got Pepcid and an oral syringe. Thanks BJ. Definitely going to keep that around for further upset stomachs.

Dropped her at the vet. They didn't have any openings but said I could drop her and they would check her. They're doing. CBC and urinalysis. Just waiting for a call now!

Re: Gypsy AMPS 304

Well the vet called. She was dehydrated with a semi high white count. Her BG was 344...but she's at the vet so she's naturally high. Going to get some injections....B12, Pepcid, something else to help calm her intestines, antibiotics...they also want to give sub q fluids and wait to make sure she gets them absorbed. Poor girl. But she should feel better. I'll make sure to mix water in her food for the next couple days to get more fluids in her.

Said if age doesn't eat tomorrow, she needs to come back for appetite stimulant. Hope all this works! I pick her up at 4. Thanks for working with me the last few days.

Re: Gypsy AMPS 304

This sounds encouraging. I am glad you went. They don't see any underlying infection or anything? No evidence of pancreatitis?

Re: Gypsy AMPS 304

Nope. I asked about pancreatitis specifically but she didn't see anything. Said she looked good except the dehydration. She said the Pepcid I gave probably was why she ate today. I hope this fixes it so I don't have to go back tomorrow. I have to work so I'd need BF to bring her in and I know he hates that. I do feel better bringing her in though. I'm glad they'll give her fluids. Poor girl will probably be exhausted tonight.

She ate!! Mixed water in her food. She didn't eat too much, but she did eat some. Gave her 0.5 since she's eaten so little. I hope this means we are good again. We'll see how she feels the next few days.

Glad Gypsy ate tonight.

When you update your spreadsheet indicate what happened over the past few days in the "comments" section so we can all see what occurred on one page. It will be a good reference for future.
