Hi,

I'm Chip. My cat is Lullaby. She's about 13. We started over a year ago with Prozinc, and things were OK for a while, but she started elevating to between 400-700+. We tried going up to 10 units, then back down to 4. Then switched to Vetsulin starting with 3 and up to 6 now.
We recently visited UGA vet internal medicine for some tests and found extreme pancreatitis, (Triaditis). They tell me that pancreatitis often causes insulin resistance.
We switched to Blue Buffalo HF at the suggestion of UGA vet. That was just a week ago. On their advice we'll run a curve in 3 weeks to see if the diet helps.

Nice to meet you all.

Thanks,

Welcome.
Are you home testing daily? That will give you a better picture of what's going on than the occasional curve.
Tagging @JanetNJ who has used both insulins.

What was the reason for switching insulins? Generally ProZinc is a better insulin. It's longer lasting and not as likely to have a harsh curve.

Is that blue buffalo food the dry or canned version? What was he eating before?

Do you have a log or spreadsheet of your numbers?
Has he been tested for acromegaly? We usually recommend that they be tested for acro once you pass 6 units.

So I see the blue buffalo hf dry is 39% carb and while I don't have the numbers on the wet, it has a one of the top ingredients POTATO STARCH and peas. This is not going to work. You need Zlow carb wet food. A perscription food is not necessary. Most here feed fancy feast classic or Friskies pate foods. Other good choices are most weruva or Tiki cat foods. Here's a list. You want foods under 10 percent carb https://catinfo.org/docs/CatFoodProteinFatCarbPhosphorusChart.pdf
