Are they safe to give two a day?
They're tiny, but they contain wheat flour, corn syrup, and pregelatinized corn.
Checkers is on Clavamox 2x a day, for UTI. I could kick myself for using the pill pockets for a week, and just now checking the ingredients.
I had him diet- controlled, but his bg has been in 200's and I assumed it is because of the UTI. Now I wonder if I'm keeping it elevated with the pill pockets.
 
Pearl gets about 1.5 per day for all her pills. When I can keep her out of Sugar's dry, I see no difference. I'm just terrible about guarding Sugar's food :( But I really don't think a couple of pill pockets will affect most FD cats. (ECID so some might be that sensitive.) I would guess the infection is much more the culprit.
 
how big are the meds you are giving? what you can do to minimize the amount of pill pocket you use is to tear off just the amount needed to cover the pill/hide it. like i could do one day on one pill pocket taking care of morning and evening meds.

but no matter what, if not using them means a fight or terror to kitty, it's worth it to use the pill pockets.

i have to doubt though that the pockets would affect the BG too much, unless kitty is very carb sensitive
