I have just received the best news this morning. I took Beatrice to a new vet this morning because she now has an upper respiratory infection.
I took all of her records and lab results from last week's vet appt. This new vet does specialize in internal medicine as well.
The vet reviewed everything and confirmed that Beatrice does NOT have diabetes, she said just as many of you did, that the high number of 155 was mostly from the anxiety associated with the vet visit, and the UTI she has. Her Fructosomine came back normal range.
Wow, finally some good news, it has been a very rough week for our family.
I am so glad I found this site and Feline.org, and I am very grateful for all the info that I have learned from all of you. I will continue making the transistion of wet food to Beatrice and her sister. I now know that is the most important step in good feline nutrition and for optimal health. I will be sure to spread the word about all the wonderful wealth of knowledge you all have to share.
Thanks again to all of you, and best of luck with your sugar babies.
