Good morning all -

Yesterday I bought an Accu-Chek aviva meter, and am optimistic that I won't be getting such crazy readings. So far, so good! I've been testing w/ it and the Relion Ultima, and for the most part, getting reasonably similar readings... except this morning... So far, I'm feeling good about the meter.

So since the meter:

Grayson is quite cozy sleeping on my computer bag. He's really looking good these days - his coat is gorgeous again, and he's starting to fill out a little - holding around 13.1#. He still looks anorexic when he stands up, but laying down w/ a full tummy, he looks pretty normal. Still, much smaller than the 21.6# big boy he used to be!

Tomorrow is the big day for his IAA and Acro tests. Will see what they show us...one way or the other. In the meantime, he's chattering an chasing in his sleep! How cute is that! :-D

Let us know about the outcome of the tests. How has ketones been. Yesterday you posted that there were a trace. I am always concerned about ketones.

NEG ketones

Thanks for asking about the ketones. I'm testing 2-3x/day - and they're generally staying in the 0-2 range if you call the NEG on the bottle 0 and the TRACE 5. I can work with that! Still has a good appetite (just asked why he only got a half can!), getting fluids, and has normal cat breath - no acetone smell, and is acting normal. But I'm definitely keeping a check on it!

Tomorrow's the big day for him - tests scheduled at 8:45. Dropping Stanley off earlier, as it appears he has a chipped or broken canine. It's a shame when everyone else gets their teeth done, and I'm still waiting for some work on mine! ;-)

Will keep everyone tuned in on what we find out. THe tests ship overnight, so they should have them Tuesday - and the tests run in Michigan on Wednesday. Fingers crossed that we get some results that might tell us if his limited drop is resistence or if something else is going on. I want to know, but a part of me thinks that ignorance is bliss - but after this past month or two, I've GOT to know!

Happy Monday - or at least what's left of it... if anyone is still up!

Today was the big day... Grayson had his "exams" today (Acro and IAA)... the blood should be at Michigan State tomorrow and tests run on Wednesday! Fingers crossed that we'll find something out from them! I think my vet has figured out that I'm a little OCD. ;-)

Grayson continues to have red preshots, and, like Libby, I've considered TID for him as well. But I've also tried shooting at the 10s. Would've been good if I'd set the OTHER alarm last night, instead of the one by the bed. So on the second cycle, I missed the 10. :o We're back at 3u, and I continue to do fluids at least once a day. I've missed the ketone tests I usually get - todays been crazy, due to 2 cats at the vet this morning and a dental visit for me after lunch... I've put it off long enough, and had to do it! Wrapped up the night with a little "mowing by moonlight", and mulching some beds I cleaned over the weekend. It's amazing how much better things can look if I actually TAKE the time to do them!!!

Hoping for some better numbers over the next few days. We'll see how the 10/10/10 schedule ends up working.
 
Hope the tests come out conclusively one way or the other. Maybe you should ask the

Hey Grayson...hehe mom left the flat thing out again. Wanted to say hi & see how you are. Also, wanted to tell you....You know that girl at IHop? Your girlfriend? cat(2)_steam Well the other day when I was there without you. I saw her....she was talking to some scruffy looking Alley cat...he was multi color. I never seen him before. She gave him her number. He was saying something about taking her to the fish market.
You need to get rid of her. She is a two timer.
I better go. Think about what I said about your girlfriend. She can't be trusted.
