Good morning...

Not so many numbers from Grayson last night, but interesting this morning, nonetheless.

Thursday PMPS 410; shot 4.2u
+3.5 323
+7.5 (1) 403 (big drop of blood; retested)
+7.5 (2) 365 (not that much variance)
fed 3/4 can FF seafood

Friday AMPS 342; shot 4.2 u
fed 1 can FF turkey

On first glance you wonder if he was rising. But based on the +3.5 last night, it was - just somewhat of an up and down before the preshot. Again, the big blood tends to skew my meter, as does the "double dipping" or running toward the end before it errors out, so I'm doing more repeat tests. I'm also starting to see a pattern of lower AMPSs than the PMPSs - wondering if it's because he's eating less in the middle of the night - unless I feed him some when the dogs want out at 2 am! Anyways, appreciate anyone's thoughts...

Now that things are calmer around here, I'm trying to catch up on everyone else...

I know what you mean about the big drop of blood. Carl said to try to hover over it and let the strip sip up the blood so it doesn't drown in that big drop. Seems to work for me, most of the time. ;-)

If you want Grayson to eat more at night, have you tried an automatic feeder? Or you could feed him at 2am and just see how he does. Not a lot of advice to give; you seem to have your 'guys' well in hand.

Thanks for the picture of Hershey with the bday hat. We used to try to get him to pose with one for his birthday, but he never did get into the whole idea. BUT - he never minded playing dress-up with Jessica. I'll have to try to find one of those pictures of him in a dress and bonnet. My aunt always said I messed him up by naming a boy cat two female pronouns, but maybe it was the dress-up ;-)

I'm sure "dress up" had no ill effects - or the pronouns - he was the perfect gentleman when he was here! I don't think you met my big guy Peaches (he was probably sleeping under the bathroom vanity!), but he doesn't have issues either despite the naming thing. Or Palmer, for that matter! As long as they don't miss dinner, do you really think they care what we make them wear or call them?

Grayson's Day looks like this so far:
AMPS 342 Shot 4.2u
fed 1 can FF turkey
+2.5 353 (still the food spike)
+5 316
fed 2/3 can FF turkey
+8 385 (some of that is probably food)
NEGATIVE ketones!!! WOO HOO!!!

He's anxiously awaiting his fluids (they come w/ seafood FF) - now onto every other day.

That's worth saying again.... NEGATIVE ketones!!! WOOT!!!

+9.25 436 (????)/385
+9.5 100 mL SubQs while face in bowl of...
fed 1 can FF Salmon (no food spike!)
PMPS 385 Shot 4.2 (thought maybe the meter was stuck on this number!)
fed 1 can FF Salmon (no food spike!)
+2 327 - what a difference the food makes!!!

I feel a yellow in our future.... wish I knew I could see a blue too... it's been WAY TOO LONG!!! But I don't think I can stay awake for another 4 hours to see it  So glad I started tracking the foods. Maybe he's not been at the IHOP all this time because he's flat - maybe it's just the food???

Although he'd probably love to be a wharf cat, eating seafood regularly, AND that his numbers probably would look better, I know he can't have it all the time. But WOW!!! I'm actually seeing drops more like everyone else - despite his appetite!

Yeah! NO KETONES!!! AWESOME! Keep up the great work. You are doing such a great job with him!
