Good morning all

Grayson was at the same 346 this morning that I left him at at +4 last night, so I'm guessing that means he went down maybe into the 200s... but I won't know, as I slept through it.

Maybe it was all the excitement from the big b'day party last night! I had e-mailed a picture of the cake out to various friends & family (all across the country!), and someone called to ask what time they should be here! Okay.... um.... so I raced to the store to get a real b'day cake and ice cream! Oops - guess I need to be clearer when I put something out there like that!

AMPS 346 Shot 4.0
1.5 cans FF Chicken
NEG/TRACE ketones

Looks like we're off to a good start! Wishing everyone a good day filled with great numbers!

If the looks of the floor, with about 20 new cat toys strewn about, is any indication of the fun, I'd say last night was quite a success! The kids (who ADORE the kitties) took toyes to each, and there were still a bowlfull in the diningroom. Several balls flying around the kitchen, and surprisingly, Jack (dog) hasn't confiscated any - yet, at least!

WISDOM TO SHARE... there's a reason they may cat toys, shaped like mousies, in bright colors and patterns! My sister gave me a real looking one, that one of the dogs carried out into the yard. It got rained on and looked kinda ... real  ... and for several days, I really didn't want to see if it was a formerly live one, or just a toy. Then FINALLY I saw the tail. THANK GOODNESS - just the toy. Yep, pink, yellow, green mousies - they're good!

AMPS 346 Shot 4.0
Fed 1.5 cans FF Chicken
NEG/TRACE ketones
+3.5 273
+6 317
Fed .5 can FF Chicken
100 mL Sub Qs
NEG ketones!

Our cats have one that looks real and regularly I'll turn on the light first thing in the morning (sleepy-eyed) and see it standing upright in the middle of the hall. Sometimes it gives me a start! :o

Fortunately, my boys prefer soft fabric balls about 2 inches in diameter. I don't see "mice" (except the one they killed in the kitchen last year) and panic, and if they leave a ball in my bed (frequently) they're soft and squishy.

 another party? Wow Grayson is one lucky kitty! Two parties back to back...that's fun! party_cat
It would be cool if we lived closer. Baxter & I want to come. I want cake!

I am so glad that Grayson is doing better now
especially without the ketones!
and how lucky is he to have 2 parties! I am so jealous!

Stealthy little Grayson just snuck into the litter and peed - not telling me til he was covering. I don't know WHY I do it, but I guess I'm convinced that one day I'll actually get a reading when I stick the test strip into a ball of urine (not a pond, but a well-covered ball!), instead of a mud-covered strip!

So... day in review:
AMPS 346 Shot 4.0
Fed 1.5 cans FF Chicken

+3.5 273
+6 317
Fed .5 can FF Chicken
100 mL Sub Qs Freeze-dried shrimpie treat - WHAT fluids??? May I have another please???!!!
NEG ketones!
+9.5 360
PMPS 427 Shot 4.2 (slight increase)
Fed 1 can FF
+2.5 317

Doesn't look like the extra insulin made a difference this cycle...but the ketones are sure looking MUCH better these days!!! Will hopefully get one more check before calling it a night.

BTW: Grayson's mom Tedi has had flare-ups of dandruff in the past, but currently has a very pretty shiny coat. I snatched her today (she's somewhat reluctant to be held) and tested her BG. 55 - WOO HOO!!!

Glad Grayson's ketones are negative, very good.
Wow hes one birthday partying type of guy with not one but two birthday parties : )
My civvies won't let me test them.
Funny, I told my DH just tonight when we were feeding the ferals/semi-ferals that one of the tame girls was looking fat ( not pg all are fixed) these days and wondered if I should try to check her BG. She doesn't show any symptoms at all I guess we just want to start checking BGs once we get the hang of it  I think DH thinks I'm nuts!

When I first started testing Grayson, I nicknamed him my "little turnip", cuz squeezing blood from a turnip would've been easier. He didn't bleed much... and still has some issues.

Nonetheless, I had some willing/unwilling participants on which to do my training. It's not too bad if you can switch them up and only do each one once or twice! ANOTHER advantage to having a "house full!" - lab rats!!!

Anyways, most just look at me as if to say "what'd I do to deserve that?" A piece of freeze-dried chicken or shrimp and voila! they're ready to go again!!!
