I think I'm going to try a grain free kibble in addition to Chunky's wet food. I can't afford to feed him as much as he wants, so I'm thinking a kibble between meals might be good. Thoughts on brands?

Check the label because grain free often contains other carbs like potatoes, peas, etc. The only truly low carb kibble people here use is Young Again Zero Mature. It's online, expensive but goes a long way and they'll send you a free sample to try. I can't get it here in Canada.
I am doing grain-free kibble and grain-free canned with raw chicken and beef as treats. My kitty Griff was just diagnosed with diabetes. Grain-free kibble is high in carbs and I really believe that is why Griff got diabetes
