It's been a while, but just a quick update on Miss Grace. She is on 0.1u Lev as needed (usually every 24-26 hrs) and is doing great.
But last night, Hollis called me in a total panic around midnight. Grace suddenly started falling over. First check was BGs (good), and then I asked her to feel the back paws. Thank God they were warm - I was terrified of a saddle thrombosis. Appetite was good, no apparent pain, purring, just not able to walk. I told Hollis it was likely another stroke, and to drive down first thing today. She was actually there, at the vet's, when I took Astrophe's blood over, so I got to see them.
It was a stroke, but Grace is already recovering. One foot is turned a bit on its side, but she is already much better. As a cardiomyopathy kitty she is prone to this. (Some of you may remember that I was the one arguing with those horrid first vets that she had a stroke the time she couldn't eat because her tongue wouldn't work, but they insisted it was impossible and put her under anaesthesia for a dental she didn't need and sent her into DKA... which they couldn't treat. Still have nightmares about that.)
Spent a few minutes with Grace, and she was happy and alert, purring and feeling quite pampered. This kitty is already on her 14th life, I swear, and never loses any of her calm, loving purrsonality. What a doll!
