Many of you here know my friend Elizabeth, who is an absolute star at posting here to help people, whatever their query. Now it's your turn to help her, please...

One of her lovely cats, Moses, has been poorly for a while and Elizabeth has just told me that the vet is going to put him to sleep tomorrow :-( Elizabeth wasn't expecting this quite so soon and is naturally extremely upset - especially since this is happening only a matter of weeks after she lost another of her kitties, Jim Bob.

Elizabeth is one of life's givers and would never ask anything for herself, so I am asking for her - please, please, send loving thoughts and positive vibes to both Moses and Elizabeth tomorrow as they say goodbye. We all know how horribly hard this is but a little support behind the scenes can be comforting.

Little Moses is the dearest little boy and will soon be in a place of peace, but the pain for Elizabeth begins. Please be there for her, peeps...

Sending many prayers for Elizabeth and that she may have some comfort as Moses crosses the bridge.

I am so sorry to hear this. Elizabeth is such a loving, giving person and such an asset to this forum. I hope sweet Moses passes easily and comfortably and she feels peace in his journey.

“Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say goodnight till it be morrow.”

Elizabeth, so sorry to hear that you have to say goodbye to another of your wonderful, beloved kitties. Having it be so soon after losing Jim
Bob makes it even more heart wrenching. The tears are flowing freely here.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and Moses as you say goodbye.

Oh, Eliz! I'm so sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you and I pray that you find peace and comfort. {{Hugs!}}

I'm so sorry to hear this  Sending best wishes to Elizabeth and Moses, I hope that she can take comfort from him finding peace.

Elizabeth and Moses are in my prayers. Comfort to you Elizabeth, and easy and joy filled crossing to Moses.
Please know that he knows how much you love him, and he will be waiting for you to join him someday.

Diana,
Bless you for posting this. Elizabeth is fortunate to have you as a dear friend.

Elizabeth, you are a sweet and beautiful soul. And Moses could not have found a better place to spend his life. He knew pure love, and that is the greatest gift we humans can give to our beloved pets. My heart aches for you. My prayers are for you to find peace and to treasure every last moment with him.

Fly free Moses. Land softly and make sure that you and Jim Bob send comfort to your Mom to help her heart to heal.

Carl

Gosh...

Thank you, everyone. I am totally overwhelmed by your kindness.

And what’s more, the positive energy and well-wishes here may have worked a little bit of magic for us….

When I got up to check on Moses during the night he seemed a little brighter than usual. I wasn’t sure if I was imagining it. But it really made me wonder whether he was ready to be PTS… When I went back to bed I lay awake for a while asking the universe for some kind of clear sign – one way or the other – to help decide Moses immediate fate.

Well, when I walked out of the bedroom door this morning Moses was sitting on the landing waiting for me. That was quite a surprise because Moses hasn’t been able to get up the stairs for quite a few days now. I bent down to stroke him and he was really responsive; purring, and head-butting my hand. He trotted down the stairs and ate a good breakfast. And then, bless him, he even made an attempt at washing himself – something he’s not been able to do lately. I scooped him up, sang to him, and had a little dance around the room with him (he really likes that…). And I really started to think that maybe today wasn’t Moses’ day to die…

Then I looked out of the window and saw a deer curled up on the grass under the old apple tree where Moses has his little tree house. I know the deer will have come into the garden for windfall fruit, but the fact that it lay down to rest under Moses’ tree was very special indeed. It felt like an auspicious symbol, almost magical. And the appt made for the vet to come to the house this afternoon has been cancelled…

I do realise that this upturn in Moses' health may be one of those ‘sudden improvement before the final crash’ things (which I know can happen). But, whatever the reason, I am so grateful for this time, however brief it is...

Thank you FDMB. Thank you universe. Thank you little deer under the tree. Moses gets to dance another day…

I wish you could see the size of my smile.

How lovely, Elizabeth. Some more time to appreciate and love him and tell him how important he has been in your life. What a nice gift for you both.

Elizabeth, it is so sad to hear such a bad news :YMSIGH:
All my thoughts, positive vibes, best wishes are flying to you! Fingers crossed!

Wow....Looks like all of our prayers and hugs and wishes have helped. :-D :-D

So glad to hear that Moses is still with his loving fur-mom. YAY!

Really pleased to hear this, Elizabeth!
Glad that Moses still intends to "stay on" - and here's hoping and praying it will be for a good while yet.
This reprieve will have been an immense relief and joy for you, and we are all smiling, too!
