Good thoughts/prayers for Sunshine, please

Please ramp up your good thoughts for Sunshine. In spite of yesterday's positive update and even though she's being her usual lovey, perky, purrzy self, and she's eating, the vet says she's in acute renal failure. If she doesn't improve overnight, she'll have to be put to sleep tomorrow. She really, really needs your support tonight! Thanks.

BJM - this is acute renal failure, not chronic. Also possibly starting a cascade of organ failure.

Nadine, this is 100% out of my hands. Sunny doesn't look or act like she's ready to go, but if her blood work shows she's in organ failure, DCIN will have to let her go. It would also be in her best interest if that's the case.

No word yet today on how she's doing. I'll keep you all updated.

Nothing really new to report, but Venita is allowing Sunny one more day at the vet hospital, because what she asked for last night didn't happen (working to wean Sunny off IV fluids to see if she can be supported with subQs only). Her renal values are dropping, so that's good news, but her BG is still too high. Could be that the massive amount of fluids is diluting the effect of the Levemir. No word yet on whether she's suffering from cascading organ failure.

She really still needs your good thoughts and prayers!

I'll be heading down to see her this afternoon.

Just reposting from my FB page: Sunshine got a reprieve today, so she's still with us. We'll see where she is tomorrow, but we're trying to stay hopeful that she'll be able to be released and go to Jenna for more rehab and good care. I got to see Miss Sunny today for about 2 hours. It was lovely to have some to spend just with her and no distractions. Though I cried when they came to take her back to her kennel (and I made the vet tech cry, too!). Please continue to send her your good thoughts/prayers. Thank you!
