Hi, I have the BD syringes with half-unit that I bought at walmart but the plunger is way to sticky <1.0u. ( Ihave seen the videos and the twisting method wont work on the BD)

Anyone know of better options for U100 syringes that don't have this issue. I can buy locally here in TX? Walgreens, Walmart, etc.? I could order from ADW but I am just starting out and I don't want to wait for shipping right now.

or maybe Amazon?

Plungers should never be sticky. There is a lubricant around the seal that comes from the factory, one of the reasons we tell people it's a bad idea to prefill syringes.
Every pharmacy sells U100's, some have their own brand and some sell BD's. I really liked Monoject but other members have had problems with them. I'd feel safer going to a local pharmacy, I've gotten a few non medical counterfeit things from Amazon that really turned me off shopping there.

Do you move the plunger up and down a few times prior to filling the syringe? I never had an issue with BD syringes. Maybe you got a bad batch.

Ulticare syringes have never let me down. Never had an issue with a sticky plunger ever. The manufacturer is like 5 miles from my house, but they don't sell direct to consumers.

I wouldn't be too worried about locally getting them, just order it on Chewy:

https://www.chewy.com/ulticare-insulin-syringes-u-100-31-g/dp/206404 (31g, thinner and shorter needle)
https://www.chewy.com/ulticare-insulin-syringes-u-100-29-g/dp/206407 (29g, longer needle, this is the one I use)

Not only does Chewy have the best price on these, it counts as a Pharmacy item so you can use the code RX20 to take 20% off your first pharmacy order.

Thanks for all the replies, I have managed to get the BD syringes working ok. What I did is pull the plunger all the way back as usual and move back and forth, but here's the new trick: Then, push the plunger all the way in and twist it several times and move it just slightly up and down. This seems to lubricate the area between Zero and 1 much better. I was able to get .5 much easier this time and gave a true .5 shot.
Maybe this will help someone with the BD syringes. It's still not perfect but much better than before.

next order will be the Ulticare from Chewy. Thanks for the coupon tip!
