I am not really a newbie since I had Oliver on TR 4 years ago. However, I am going to use SLGS for Gomez since I am not going to try to wean him off dry food. He is so thin that I can't afford to do anything that might limit his intake of food and he has never liked or eaten canned food. I read the instructions for SLGS and I have 2 questions (for now.)
First, how should I check for ketones? Should I use urine strips or a blood ketone meter? Do the people urine strips and ketone meters work for cats?
Second, I noticed a recommendation for small meals throughout the day. Gomez has always been a grazer, but since his diagnosis, I have been feeding him twice a day right before his shot. Which method is better/safer for my boy?
