My very beautiful, sweet and loving Gobi is gone. On May 20 he got up and was not very hungry. He only picked at his food and sat at the window the way he used to before getting sick. By nightfall he curled in his bed and when I came to bed he came to me and curled next to me. I was stroking him when I felt his body give a quiver he exhaled and died.
I do not know what happened. I had taken him to the vet three weeks earlier and he was doing good. As a matter of fact he had been off the insulin for about a month.
On May 20 when he was not eating as usual I tested his blood glucose and it was fine.
When he sat by the window I was very worried, I knew something was up because he had not done that since he had gotten diagnosed with diabetes.
Gobi is resting in the same spot in my yard where I found him.
I think I am going crazy because I keep crying and I think of him a lot.
Thank you all.

I am so sorry for your loss. You are not going crazy! What you feel is normal. You are grieving for him. There are no words to make you feel better and make the pain go away. I can only say that I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort and peace. My baby passed on the same day as your Gobi and I just like you have not been able to stop crying yet. Some say time helps, others say no amount of time helps. Who knows?? I am here if you need to talk. Deepest condolences on the loss of beloved Gobi.

I am so sorry to hear that Gobi has earned his wings and gone to the Rainbow Bridge.

I think I am going crazy because I keep crying and I think of him a lot.
No you are not crazy. You are a normal, loving, compassionate human being who missed her dearly beloved cat. Do what ever you need to do to deal with the grief. Cry, scream, shout, think of all the times you spent together.

There is a piece of your heart missing now that Gobi is no longer by your side. Sending healing vines to you in your time of grief.

I always cry when I see that candle or rainbow in a post, because I know it means someone has lost one of their best friends.

I'm so sorry he's gone, but so glad he was with you when he did. Sweet memories will be yours one day, but intense grief is very normal right now.

I am sorry for your loss. Losing a cat is like losing a family member. It's normal to feel grief. And everyone grieves differently.

Requiem aeternum, Gobi.

It sounds like he knew he was leaving you and wanted to be by your side until then.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Gobi. The fact that he was with you when he passed speaks to how much he loved you. Cats generally go somewhere to be alone to die. This was a very special bond for sure. Wishing him Godspeed as he makes that journey to rainbow bridge. wings_cat
