hello all, I’m new to this and have to start testing my cat and from what I read and was told most people do ears on their cats but back paw is okay too.
My cat hates his ears touched I can’t even look at them, at the vet they did manage to get his ear but also they’ve done his paw before. His back paw. so just looking to see if that it still acceptable and if there is a certain spot on the paw I should be aiming for? Is an alcohol wipe safe for cats before and after the test? I picked up the contour device reader how do I compare that to cat levels. thanks!

This thread has a bunch of video's and pictures on home testing the ears: Hometesting Links and Tips You can rest the paw, but you want to test on a paw pad that isn't one they stand on. We don't use the alcohol wipes. I've seen some videos on line for paw testing, so you could look there.

There is no need to convert human blood sugar numbers. The dosing methods we use here use the human numbers, as the pet blood glucose meters are a relatively new item. Plus, there isn't really a way to convert from one to the other.
