Glucose Checking

I have purchased a freestyle lite Glucometer (human use one) for my Cat. This one reads from a 1-10mg DL reading, and I am not sure what is a appropriate level to read for a cat? IE: 5,6,7? I know the pet Glucometer reads out 120-300mg DL but I do not know what that means on a 1-10 level. I have looked online but cannot seem to find this answer.

Hey Meg, I have found the spreadsheet to be very helpful to keep me on track with my numbers . You can find it here; http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/fdmb-spreadsheet-instructions.130337/ along with instructions. It aids you in keeping your data organized. It also converts the numbers for you if you (Just make sure you type them in under the World tab not the US one like I originally did ) I find that the colour coding on the spreadsheet kind of keeps me mindful. Filling out the spreadsheet also helps other members look at the numbers and give you advice.
