I started reading stuff on glucosamine and chondroitin that don't sound good at all.glucosamine causes increased blood sugar and insulin resistance I read and chondroitin is a chain of alternating sugars.i read more than one site saying this.so should I just give my cats msm only or something else?

Read that plain msm is good for diabetes but read bad stuff about the other 2.

I don't know about the glucosamine and chondroiton, but I had read that MSM was good for diabetics too- It's a natural Anti-inflammatory. When I posted the question about it here though, no one knew anything. I'll be interested to see if you get any feedback on it.

I decided to read what they said about it to human diabetes cause they mention more when it is a human which is wrong.a cat is part of our family.i love them like my children.a few sites all mentioned especially glucosamine being bad and chondroitin is an alternating sugar chain.im switching miss kitty to msm only and making sure the inactive ingredients are ok too.i saw cellulose in with one of her meds and that is glucose!arrrrrg!

I use MSM on my horses. It works great. Helps them heal quicker as well as helping joints. I use it on me too!

My mom was just saying she has straight msm at her house that she uses on her horses and other animals that need it.lok

I should be taking it.i have fibromyalgia and arthritis.does it really make a difference for humans?

Does for me. I have the pure powder it tastes nasty. I mix it in water or whatever I'm drinking or mix it in oatmeal. Start with a double dose for a week then regular dose

Never going to be able to prove it of course but I strongly suspect it was a human glucosamine/chrondroitan supplement that turned Vyktor diabetic and also that it was a cat specific glucosamine/chrondroitan supplement that pulled him out of remission. Apparently they deliberately give large doses of glucosamine to rats and mice to make them insulin resistant for medical research.
